Tension equals Force, and Force is Strength. The more tension you generate the stronger you are. In the military and tactical world we find ourselves in situations that require us to climb over walls, in and out of windows, etc… All of this requires a super strong back, arms, and shoulders. For this purpose it’s hard to beat the pull-up, either body weight or weighted. The problem is that most of us tend to mindlessly knock out rep after rep without focusing on the neurological processes that make the body act as one instead of a collection of parts. As a result we lose track of good form and we begin to cheat our reps. Quality over quantity is the benchmark of special operators worldwide and the same goes for every rep you perform.

The Dual and Single Point Pull-up Bars are the answer to poor form and reckless reps. By suspending the bar we have created an environment, which provides immediate feedback. A rep performed with low tension and poor mechanics will immediately cause the bar to swing. The more you swing, the harder it is to hold on. Obviously low tension and poor form are self-critiquing at this point. The single point system goes one step further to identify unilateral weakness. There is no fooling this one! If you have one side that is weaker than the other you must use even more tension to avoid spinning as well as swinging. Normally the Dual system will cut your normal reps in half while the Single Point system cuts yet another quarter off your max.

But that’s not where it stops. I had to come up with a way to really get the point across that tension is the key to strength in this area. It came to reason that if it was difficult to hold onto the bar, you would have to grip it that much tighter. So with cruel intentions we added a sleeve that rotates freely making it rather difficult to grip. Fortunately (or not) for you, this sets up a chain reaction called irradiation causing the entire body to contract to support the forearms as they cling to the bar. The result is the highest amount of tension you can find in a pull-up system. Try training with either system either full time or half of the time and you will see quick results as your numbers on a stationary bar like the T.A.P.S. climb and your form becomes picture perfect.

In addition to the benefits above, the Dual and Single Point Suspended Pull-up systems are 100% portable and adjustable to nearly any environment. All you need is something to hang them on. During Operation Iraqi Freedom I built the prototypes suspended from the cross members of our tents.

For those who want to take their tactical strength and climbing ability to the next level, these are the systems you need to have in your arsenal!

Enjoy
